By using GearHeadOS…

…you agree to these terms. They apply to both the cloud service at app.gearheados.com and any self-hosted copy of the software. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Eligibility

You must be 13 or older (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account. If you're old enough to drive, you're old enough for GearHeadOS.

Accounts & security

You're responsible for keeping your login safe and for what happens in your account. Tell us right away if something looks off — reach hello@gearheados.com.

Free, Pro, and Team

Free is free, with up to 3 vehicles. Pro and Team are paid:

• Pro: $7/month or $60/year. Unlimited vehicles.
• Team: $19/month or $180/year. Up to 5 members, shared garage.

Plans renew automatically. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of your billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial months, but reach out if something's gone wrong and we'll sort it.

Self-host & open source

GearHeadOS is open source. You can run it yourself, free and forever, under the project's license. Self-hosting means you're responsible for your own data and infrastructure — we provide the software, not the hosting.

Acceptable use

Don't:

• Use GearHeadOS to break the law or anyone else's stuff.
• Try to access others' accounts or overload our systems.
• Upload content you don't have the rights to.

Your content

You own everything you put in your garage. We get a limited license to store and show it to you so the service works. Nothing more.

The software

We provide GearHeadOS "as is" with reasonable effort to keep it working and accurate. Vehicle data, recall information, and decoded specs come from third parties (notably NHTSA) — we're not liable for their accuracy, and recall applicability should always be confirmed with your dealer.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, GearHeadOS isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our liability for paid plans is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.

Termination

You can close your account any time. We can suspend a account for abuse or non-payment, and we can stop providing the service with reasonable notice.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes get posted here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
